I began my outdoor photography in the Sierras some 30 years ago. The settings include such a variety of plants, animals, scenery, and weather that have captivated photographers, hikers, and lovers. This is the area where I have captured many of my best photographs.
Yosemite one of my favorite locations. I have many, many photographs (many are in Kodachrome and not digitized) and this gallery will become my most voluminous.
The Eastern Sierras, especially in fall are incredible. We were fortunate to visit the area in late fall 2004 with great weather and excellent fall colors. We visited the White Mountains (home of the Bristlecone Pines) on the last evening before the snows hit. I had to photograph quickly as the sun was setting and there were so many great vantage points. The blue sky is startling at 11,000' and a polarizing filter further enhances it.
